Eco-Friendly Fashion Made with Recycled Fabrics

We use recycled fabrics from ECONYL yarns or American REPREVE in all swimsuits. These innovative materials are made from recycled waste, such as industrial plastic, waste fabric, and fishing nets taken from oceans and then regenerated into new nylon yarn. With these recycled materials, we create high-quality swimwear that’s just as durable and comfortable as traditional swimwear (if not more so) while reducing waste and protecting the environment.

ECONYL

ECONYL is a revolutionary technology developed by Italian firm Aquafil that recycles and replaces virgin nylon in everyday products and clothes. Traditional production methods for nylon are not eco-friendly and require massive amounts of water. They also produce a considerable amount of nitrous oxide (ten times more potent than carbon dioxide), and nylon is not biodegradable.

REPREVE

REPREVE is the world’s number-one brand of recycled performance fiber. Our high-quality fibers are 100% recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles and pre-consumer waste. They are also certified and traceable, ensuring our products meet the highest sustainability standards. By using REPREVE in our swimwear, we can offset the use of petroleum, emit fewer greenhouse gasses, and conserve water and energy in the manufacturing process.

ECO-INK

In addition to using recycled fabrics, we also use eco-ink in all of our swimsuits. This ink is made of natural, plant-based materials free from harmful chemicals and solvents. By using eco-ink, we are able to create beautiful, vibrant prints on our swimwear without harming the environment.

Charities We Support

A portion of each purchase from our brand will be donated to Healthy Seas and New Standard Institute. We believe that it’s essential to tackle sustainability by participating in ocean clean-ups and supporting those who are trying to introduce legislation that promotes conservation.

Healthy Seas

Healthy Seas is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to cleaning the oceans, particularly of ghost fishing nets, which pose a significant threat to marine life. Collaborating with fishers, communities, and stakeholders, Healthy Seas is working towards a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for our planet.

The organization recovers abandoned fishing nets from the seas and regenerates them into high-quality nylon yarn, which is then used to create sustainable textiles and products — like our swimwear!

New Standard Institute

The New Standard Institute promotes sustainability in the fashion industry NOW, other than waiting for the future. Their efforts include advocating for legislation that mandates companies to adhere to the Paris Agreement, meaning, they must pay employees a living wage.

Furthermore, they actively engage citizens, media outlets, and brands in an educational campaign to foster a greater understanding of the steps required to enact progress.

Creating Positive Change In the Fashion Industry

In the damaging world of fast fashion, our manufacturer far exceeds standards, production, and sourcing practices. Staff are paid up to three times the standard and are provided with comprehensive health insurance. Additionally, all staff members are paid an extra month of salary annually and work less than 40 hours per week. Any overtime is voluntary and paid accordingly, and meal allowances are included.

Our manufacturer is committed to ongoing worker engagement in business development and decision-making, as well as providing opportunities for worker training, capacity building, and personal development. Free Business English training by EF is also offered on a regular basis. They even arrange free Zumba dancing and soccer practice for all their staff who would like to join!

Giving Back

Every bikini, design, and starter kit ordered with our manufacturer automatically donates proceeds to grassroots organizations that support the environment, women’s access to education, and those in need. Additionally, we donate proceeds to ROLE Foundation and BALI WISE.
